Our website will remain accessible through the end of 2024 as we have many valuable resources available for download. After December 31, 2024, you can access VRIF material via the Wayback Machine. VRIF has achieved many successes since its inception in 2017. Established to address issues surrounding interoperability and quality, industry colleagues came together to exchange ideas and to seek a greater understanding of how to make VR work from end-to-end. VRIF Guidelines to support the industry in the implementation of interoperable systems for the production and delivery of 360° video content were an early accomplishment of the organization, with many expansions, from Live VR Services to Volumetric Video guidelines, seen over the years. Readers may view and download all versions of the Guidelines via the top navigation of this website. VRIF is also proud to have served as a facilitator to the encouragement of good production and distribution quality via organizing industry workshops, master classes and speaking engagements. As the organization sunset, the current VRIF President, Mauricio Aracena, said “We feel that we can conclude our work knowing that the VRIF made a positive impact on the industry and that personal and professional connections were strengthened.”
